Meet Gina

My earlier career was spent working in sales and marketing roles.  This work experience benefits my clients who struggle with the personal branding aspect of the career management process.  Being able to articulate your value to your leadership team OR to potential employers is key to landing that next opportunity.

Being in transition often (job changes, moves to new cities, and layoffs), I became really good at career exploration, job hunting and networking AND realized that I enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others!  I’ve also worked with coaches and experienced firsthand how an objective, accountability partner can help you reach your goals.

After a career break, I listened to my inner voice and pursued a long time dream and launched First Penguin Coaching.  Being able to use my gift of coaching while supporting my family is my why.

When I’m not coaching clients, I enjoy reading non-fiction, hiking in nature, and spending time with my family including our dog, Chewie.

Why “The First Penguin”?

“The First Penguin” is the first penguin that courageously jumps into the ocean in search of food, despite the possibility of encountering dangerous predators.  The first penguin mindset is one of taking risks and embracing new challenges without fear of failure.

This metaphor resonates with career transition:  changing paths, re-entering after a career break, changing lanes with your current employer, or starting a new business.

Failure may be fatal for “The First Penguin” but it is not when making a career change.

“You have to do what you love to do, not get stuck in that comfort zone of a regular job. Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it.”
